A Movie Review: Crash

Prince Paolo: Who’s connected to the brutal murder? Cut to 24 hours earlier as we weave into the lives of 8 people as they connect with each other in a hot bed of racial tensions, a journey that eventually collides head on with the cop who’s investigating the murder.

I think what’s good with this film is that many people can relate with the lives that the characters lead. Its plot ain't just like any ordinary plot that we saw in other films. It is hard to create the exact connections with each character so bravo to Paul Haggis. Some stories focuses about conflicts, racism, and misunderstandings that will connect them to tremendous tragedies. Dito ko natutunan na ang isang simpleng pagkakamali o hindi pagkakaunawaan ay nagdudulot ng malaking epekto sa bawat isa. Kung gayon hangga't mayroong taong nagkakasala at mga taong hindi nagkakaintindihan, hindi matitigil ang gulo sa mundo. This movie serves as an eye-opener to all people and a great example of F.M. Voltaire’s quotation “Prejudice is the reasoning of the stupid”, “Prejudice is an opinion without

judgement

Maybe it’s hard to please everyone and it’s hard to accept everyone’s imperfections but isn’t very fulfilling to end the day without stepping on anyone? The soundtrack of the film is the another ingredient that makes the film a tear jerking one.

I highly recommended this film to all movie fans out there. After watching this film, you will learn values and of God’s magical touch. This film has a lot of values to learn and to think na minsan, kung ano pa ang movie na walang katuturan ay iyon pa ang ating pinapanood. According to a famous movie critic, “This film is dynamite and the acting is a knockout" and I totally agree with him. The emotions of the actors are really effective that I was taken aback and was totally awed by the film. Crash! Hands down!

Batingaw 1st Screening

8:00am : I wake up, stretch my body nang bonggang bongga lol.!!I brush my teeth and wash my face :-D

8:15am: I go down to have a cup of coffee (muni-muni mode)

8:45am: I started to open the laptop and feel world od happiness. Nagplurk ako to the highest eklabu lol.!!

12:00pm: I eat lunch hmmm....If i remember Tahong ang ulam namin, ano kaya ang meaning non sa gagawin ko sa buong araw na yon?lol.

12:15pm: I drink my supplement "SPIRUMATE" ( big capsule na ang hirap i swallow)

5hours Later

I am very nervous for our 1st Screening argg!!My friend Dianne is late again. Kaya nauna na ulit ako. Pero nakahabol naman siya. Madami kami nakilalang kaibigan kahapon at kasama na don ang makulit at bibong si Wiven isa siyang Psychology student. He talks a lot about everythng under the sun. Enough about him atpagusapan natin ang screening namin. Pag pasok ko ininterview ako ni Jai btw He is the VP external of our school. He is so funny and one of my favorite actors in Batingaw.

Charlie: (I greet him Kuya Jai, siyempre bobolahin mo muna lol.)

Jai: (Hey etc. etc etc. madaming ka eklabuhan na sinabi)....How do you know me?

Charlie: Siyempre sikat pokasi kayo eh

Jai: Owwwwwww (kilig na kilig si jai!!haha..Flattered siya!!!)

Sumingit yung isang Batingawers: Hoy huwag kang makipag flirt ( may ganon?? hahah)

Jai: (Ok etc etc etc etc etc.) Act this line (binigay sa akin yung script)

Pagkatingin ko sa script ang role ko na gagawin ay isang Bisexual amff hahaha. sabay tawa ng!!!!

Jai: oh bakit ka nangiti??haha

Charlie: Wala po!!Kinabisado ko arg 1 min. lang ang time limit!!

A Movie Review:Little Miss Sunshine

"A comedy drama with heart"

How did I watch this film? Well, sale sa Video City ng mga VCD 3 for 99 PESOS. I grabbed the opportunity na makabili ng murang VCD (if I will picture my expression nako "dugapang dugapa"). Ang binili ko "Mind Hunters", "The Door In The Floor", and "Little Miss Sunshine". Little Miss Sunshine ang pinaka maganda sa tatlo, kaya I blogged about it eh. Hehe. First scene pa lang, I got amazed na on the unique character building of the movie.

Sheryl Hoover (portrayed by Toni Collette), an overworked mother of two, leads a life in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Her brother, Frank (portrayed by Steve Carell), studies the works of French author Marcel Proust. He is a homosexual scholar and after attempting suicide, he temporarily lives at home with the family. Meanwhile, Richard (portrayed by Greg Kinnear), Sheryl’s husband, is striving to build a career as a motivational speaker and life coach. He is perfect for it because of his Type A personality. Dwayne (Paul Dano), Sheryl's son from a previous marriage, is a Nietzsche-reading troubled teenager who has taken a vow of silence until he can accomplish his dream of becoming a test pilot. Richard's foulmouthed father Edwin (Alan Arkin), recently evicted from a retirement home for snorting heroin, lives with the family; he is close to his seven-year-old granddaughter Olive (Abigail Breslin).

The title of the film wasn’t so catchy that's why ngayon ko lang siya napanood (thank you Video City!). I might say that I was very into Family Drama but I didn’t expect a lot from this film. I again judged the film by its title. There was magic in this film that other film didn't have. I found the movie very compelling and fresh. I had always loved Toni Collette's acting (very superb). I've seen her in “About a Boy” and “The Hours” and marked me by her acting prowess. The cutie-cute Abigail Breslin gave a stellar performance and made her in demand. Paul Dano's character seemed to be very mysterious which was why he was my favorite character in this film. According to my plurk buddy, Astig Man, "Paul Dano is a really dynamic actor too, he's very much a chameleon, I could see him being like Johnny Depp in the future". I also asked him what the main lesson of this film was and he answered perfectly: "Few underlying levels, the importance of being yourself despite what people think, and how your family is really your number one support system, it stressed a lot of family". The movie was very creative in a way that they put signs that made the film remarkable.

A Movie Review: Shawshank Redemption

My friends know me when it comes to movies. I am into Drama (Philosophical). I usually endorse a movie to my friends. But not everybody can appreciate all movies that I recommend. Some say they're too boring but some like them. Well, we are all different. I just understand them and move on. But that doesn't mean I am angry, I am just disappointed. I have my top 5 movies and for me, they're the best among the rest until I have watched Shawshank Redemption.


Morgan Freeman(Bucket List) and Tim Robbins star in this powerful nominee for 7 Academy Awards (Including Best Picture). Based on Stephen King story. Written and Directed by Frank Darabont (Green Mile)


Morgan Freeman's narration was superbly unbelievable. I wish I also have his very deep voice. The first part of the movie showed the brutality of police inside the jail. The movie has given me full ideas how it was to be in jail. Expect a lot of tragedies in this film so before watching this film you must have to be open minded or else you'll get crazy. Many said that there was no hope in jail, but for Andy Dufresne (Tim Robbins) hope will always be a good thing. He became indomitable and brings change to entire prison. The cleverness of this film made sleeping hard for me. "Walang labis walang kulang sa pelikula na ito. Kung baga sa Eat All You Can sulit ang pera mo dahil nandoon ang kompletong putahe na pwede mong kainin". Most of the scenes were unexpected that remind me of "A Beautiful Mind". Too bad I just bought a VCD instead of a DVD. Maybe in jail you will experience pain and misery but as I saw this film, the characters imposed that in jail you will learn to value what we called "Brotherhood", just like it was with Andy and Red. The attack of the director (Frank Darabont) made a mark on me and because of that I will always follow his films. "Mahirap makahanap ng pelikulang ganito ngayon at para sa akin masaya ako dahil may isang pelikula na nakapag bukas sa aking tulog na kaisipan.

Audition in Theater Arts (Tanghalang Batingaw)

Biyernes ang Audition ko para sa Batingaw. Alas dos ng hapon na sa school na ako para hintayin ko ang ang kaklase ko na si Dianne. Kaming dalwa lang ang naglakas ng loob para sumali don. Na late siya kaya pumila na ako para mgparegister. Maya maya naisipan ko muna pumuntang chapel para magnilay-nilay. Pagkataposko magdasal nagtungo na ako mismo sa sa lugar ng pag aauditon. May lumapit sa akin na lalaki(E.K ang name) para magtanong kung sasali daw ako. Naisip ko na isa siya sa mga taong nangangahas na mapabilang sa sikat na org na yon. Siya ay isang semenarista noon at ngayon ay isa nang estudyante(Apir tayo jan pare!). Nakumbinsi niya ako na mauna na para may kasabay daw siya. Pumasok na kami at nagsimula nang manginig ang aking katawan ngunit hindi naman ako kinakabahan dahil alam ko na kaya ko yun. Interview ang unang step. Tinanong kung ano daw ang hilig ko sabi ko naman madami. Mabait ang naginterview sa akin. At sa wakas ay dumating na ang late ko na kaklse, bumili daw siya ng shoes kaya siya natagalan. Si Diane nga pala ay isang msayahin na tao at siyempre maganda. Bumibilis na ang oras malapit na ang parte na magigigng David Garcia ang lolo mo!!hahaha. Pinapasok na kmi para sa masusing Talaktakan. Okey naman siya nakakuha kmi ng good reviews. Pagkayari ng mga iyon eto na ang pinakamahirap(3rd sa pinkamahirap) ang pag ARTE!!! Tatlo kami tinwag bingyn kami ng situation. Kunyare gf ko daw si girl(Diane) at may ibang bf (E.K.)si girl. Lights camera action!

One by one acting naman!!!(Ito ang gusto ko!!haha.Pina act kami isa isa. Ang situation sa akin: Kunyari iniwanan ka ng girlfriend (BATINGAW MEMBER) mo pano mo gagawin ang acting na iyon.\

Girl: Ayoko na niloloko mo lang ako, tapos na tayo.(pagalit kunwari)

Charlie: Hindi ko alam kung anong gagawin ko kung wala ka na. (umiiyak)(nagmamakaawa)

Girl: Tigilan mo ako, siguradong uulit ka nnmn

Charlie: Wala na akong iibigin pa kung di ikaw lamang, at kung mawawala ka, nais ko ay mamatay na!!(ginaya ko ung sa Maging Sino ka man John Loid style lol.)

Girl: Wala na ang pagmamahal ko nabalutan na ng poot at galit!!!
